Try Authentic Korean Food with The Cheap Prices at Sarangeui Oppa

I don't mean to exaggerate, nothing can beat the cheap prices and authentic taste of Korean food in Sarangeui Oppa.

Sarangeui Oppa is one of the Korean dining places in Jogja. Finding this place accidentally, because there is one special moment and I intend to treat some friends. At first, I was a bit worried about the budget because, in Jogja, almost all authentic Korean food was very expensive. In fact, in Sarangeui Oppa we can treat friends to eat a lot, without spending too much money.

The food here is very yummy, my friend said that the cook is the native Korean. At least, they use the same ingredients as they use in Korea. Maybe that's what makes them put the tagline on Instagram: Korean food by Korean Chef. About the menu, they have a variety of food, drinks, snacks and side dishes. There are several menus that you should try if you eat at Sarangeui Oppa.

1. Tteokbokki (20.000 IDR)

This first snack is a menu that is always sold out quickly. Yep, this is a rice cake from Korea which is commonly known as tteokbokki. It is kind of rice cake combined with spicy-sweet-yummy sauce. This is indeed the main snack if you eat at Korean restaurants, besides Kimchi. The chewy feeling combined with the taste of the sauce makes it delicious. The tteokbokki size here has a variety of thin and thick pieces. But the portion served is enough to make me full. The portion of tteokbokki is more suitable to be eaten by two even three people

2. Samyang Buldak Chicken (28.000 IDR)

The second snack that I definitely bought is this Korean chicken wing. Actually, Sarangeui Oppa has a lot of sauce choices for chicken wings. But for some reason, the spicy-sweet-sweet taste of Samyang Buldak Chicken is what I think is the most delicious. The spicy level can be chosen, if I just choose level 1 which is quite spicy. Don't imagine this chicken wing skin will become soft because of the sauce. The taste of crispy flour and skin is still very crunchy. The sauce didn't make a messy hand either. Really delicious !!

3. Kimbab (30.000 IDR)

Choosing the main menu, instead of eating ramen, I really can eat without rice. Roll rice with filling or we called it  Kimbab is one of the favorite menus here. This menu seems like we can find it in Japanese restaurants or in Korean restaurants. But I myself have never found kimbab that is big in size like this. Crispy seaweed, and fluffy white rice, containing bulgogi meat, danmuji (pickled radishes), eggs and vegetables. It tastes quite tasty and fresh. The portion itself, if it's enough for two people.

4. Bibimbap (20.000 IDR)

The next main menu is bibimbap. This rice bowl is super beautiful and instagramable. The topping contains vegetables, mushrooms, beef, and fried eggs. The chili paste is also good for you who like spicy food. Really recommend for those who are on a diet because the portion of vegetables is more than the carbohydrates. This bibimbap portion isn't too big. This is the food that I definitely want, especially if I'm hungry and don't want to gain a lot of weight.

Tips: If you plan to come in a group, you should reserve a few days before because of limited space. The most appropriate time here is the opening time because the menu is still complete. Without a reservation, at 3pm there are already some menus that run out, especially tteokbokki.
